Background

Since ...

• The Green Party of Nevada Executive Council (GPNV-EC) has lost four members and gained one member in the last six months;
• The GPNV-EC is responsible for facilitating the state meetings and conventions;
• The GPNV-EC must assure that the Green Party of Nevada exists with the state and moves towards ballot access and then election;
• The GPNV-EC benefits from being wholly transparent and encourages registered Green participation; and
• A current agenda item in the GPNV-EC e-mail meeting is outreach and education;

I propose the following:

Please respond with approval, disapproval, and/or comments to this proposal by Saturday, January 7, 2006.

Send the following copy to all Green Party (Northern Nevada Greens, Clark County Greens, Green Party of Nevada) and friendly groups e-mail lists and message boards on January 11, 2006 from the gpnv@clarkcountygreens.org e-mail address.

We need more participation in the Green Party of Nevada Executive Council.

Calling all Nevada Greens!
We need your help planning for and organizing the state meeting in April.
We need your help keeping track of all the changes in Nevada election law.
We need your help growing the Green Party of Nevada.
We need your help in assisting candidates and getting Greens elected.

We have these open positions:

Member At-Large
Member At-Large

Member At-Large: Craig Bergland

The Green Party of Nevada is not like other electoral political parties. That's why we're registered as Green ... we know that this party is different. But when we register as a Green, we don't simply sign up and then sit back in order to watch what happens. We register knowing that we seek a more participatory government and therefore, a more participatory political party. We not only believe this, but we've written it into our bylaws, our platform, and our Ten Key Values. Every registered Green is responsible for helping to grow the Green Party of Nevada. With this in mind, your elected Executive Council asks that you get involved in any way that you feel comfortable so we can grow this party together.
